It is this zeal for the Lord, ó utsaha,
the zeal of the whole nature for its divine results, vyakulata, the heartís eagerness for the attainment of the Divine, ó that devours the ego and breaks up the limitations of its petty
and narrow mould for the full and wide reception of that which it seeks, that which, being universal, exceeds and,
being transcendent, surpasses even the largest and highest individual self and nature.
The power of aspiration of the heart, the force of the will, the concentration of the mind, the perseverance and determination of the applied energy are the measure of that intensity.
The sadhana of this yoga does not proceed through any set mental teaching or prescribed forms of meditation, Mantras or others, but by aspiration, by a self-concentration inwards or upwards, by self-opening to an Influence, to the Divine Power above us and its workings, to the Divine Presence in the heart and by rejection of all that is foreign to these things. It is only by faith, aspiration and surrender that this self-opening can come.
Even there shall come as a high crown of all
The end of Death, the death of Ignorance.
But first high Truth must set her feet on earth
And man aspire to the Eternalís light
And all his members feel the Spiritís touch
And all his life obey an inner Force.
